The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and equally comfortable with creative problem-solving and technical execution. A solid understanding of design for manufacture is essential — including appropriate tolerances, material specifications, and production feasibility.
Responsibilities
- Produce custom technical drawings and visuals for client projects based on tailored briefs.
- Maintain and regularly update technical documentation for standard product lines, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all drawings.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, production, and customer care to ensure design clarity and feasibility.
- Support the development of new products from concept stage through to production-ready design, incorporating technical specifications and material selections.
- Organize and manage a clear and accessible filing system for all drawings and documentation, ensuring ease of reference for internal and external teams.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant safety, performance, and manufacturing standards, aligning with production and supplier capabilities.
- Provide ongoing technical support during the production and installation phases, including reviewing site photos, installation issues, or damage reports to identify faults and specify correct repair or replacement solutions.
- Serve as a technical advisor to the sales and customer care teams, helping to resolve post-installation issues and ensure a high-quality client experience.
Requirements
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit and SketchUp, with strong 2D and 3D drafting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, precise, and accurate technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of design for manufacture, including tolerance specification, material suitability, and production processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach to tasks.
- Confident in interpreting design briefs and communicating technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Background in furniture, lighting, architectural, interior design, or bespoke manufacturing sectors is desirable.
- Proficiency in rendering software such as KeyShot, V-Ray, or Lumion.
- Strong understanding of materials (metals, glass, stone, etc.), hardware, and production limitations across small- to mid-scale manufacturing.
