Interviews
For this serene residential project, LTA Interiors embraced a vision of simplicity, modernity, and organic beauty.
By focusing on a monochromatic palette of soothing tones and textures, complemented by bespoke lighting and luxurious materials, the design achieves a harmonious balance of understated elegance and striking impact. Collaborating closely with the client, the team created a space that is both personalized and timeless, reflecting a shared passion for quiet sophistication.
Project Vision and Concept
Can you tell us about the vision behind this residential project and the overall design concept?
The overall concept for this project was a simplistic, modern, and organic design.
What were the key elements you focused on to achieve the desired aesthetic, and how did lighting contribute to this vision?
The key elements are the monochromatic materials with soothing tones and textures. The lighting was key to amplifying the space. The fixtures added the metal and glass elements without distracting from the beauty of the calming environment.
Lighting Design
How did you approach lighting to balance both functionality and ambiance, and what types of fixtures (e.g., pendants, chandeliers, wall sconces) were selected for the space?
For this project, lighting was carefully curated to enhance both functionality and ambiance. A 3000K lighting source was chosen for the pendants and sconces, paired with dimmers and recessed lights to create a versatile and balanced lighting plan. Handmade glass and metal fixtures amplified the space’s warmth and sophistication. In the kitchen, Gabriel Scott's Harlow Pendants added a touch of modern elegance with their refined silhouettes and exquisite craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the bedroom featured the brand's Myriad Pendants, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere through their intricate, geometric design. These fixtures seamlessly blended form and function, becoming focal points within each room.
Bespoke Design and Materials
How did you incorporate bespoke or unique design features into the space, and what materials, textures, and finishes were central to defining the luxury of the residence?
The organic shapes of the furniture, unique curved rug, ambient light fixtures, and the one of a kind art, created an elevated environment. This was enhanced with a monochromatic color scheme using a variety of materials such as linen, velvet, and wool.
Client Collaboration
How closely did you work with the client to ensure their vision was reflected in the final design? Did they have specific requests for certain design features or rooms?
We worked very closely with the client. They were involved in almost every detail! They definitely wanted to use the Gabriel Scott welles sconces! It had been one of their favorites for years!
Final Outcome
What are you most proud of in this project, and what feedback have you received from the client about the finished design?
We are most proud of the quiet elegance juxtaposed with the strong impact the space has when you enter the home. It’s a true “wow factor” despite its minimalistic design. The client is ecstatic and this is her favorite room in the house.
